|Dear Concerned Parent,
We sincerely apologize for the concern the current recalls may cause parents and caregivers, but child safety must always be our single most important priority. As parents we share your frustration and regret the worry recalls cause.
Working closely with the CPSC, RC2 determined that the safety issues with both products can be readily corrected in the home. There is no need to return either seat to the company. A replacement strap for the feeding chair and an easily-applied protective cover for the potty seat plaque are permanent solutions that will protect your child.
If you have one of the affected feeding chairs, immediately stop using it until the replacement strap arrives. The original strap may permit the child to slip out of the chair. For assistance in determining whether you have one of the recalled feeding seats and ordering a free replacement strap, click here, or you may call the RC2 Consumer Care Center at (866) 725-4407 toll free.
If you have one of the two styles of recalled potty training seats, there is no need to return the recalled potty training seat to the company. Until the protective cover arrives, consumers should keep these items away from young children when not in use. Instructions for ordering a protective cover are available on this website by clicking here or assistance is available by calling the RC2 Consumer Care Center at (866) 725-4407 toll free.
Since July 2007, RC2 has worked very hard to establish new safeguards as part of our new Multi-Check Safety System that will help us prevent future recalls. Today, all of our contract manufacturers are fully engaged and implementing the Multi-Check's expanded testing program and paint control procedures along with several other preventative measures. Click here to learn more about our Multi-Check Toy Safety System. Unfortunately, plaques that prompted the potty training seat recall were produced several months before the Multi-Check Safety System was implemented.
We're hopeful that concerned parents, like you, recognize that our children's products and toys have been subjected to intense scrutiny and testing and are that much safer for it. Thank you for your continued patience and support.
